2-3 year Olds

At Country Bumpkins Child Care Inc. we offer a variety of activities for children ages 2 and up.

Our main goal with 2-3 year olds is to explore and participate in class activities. This is a time when they learn about sharing and getting along with others in the classroom.

We offer stories, songs, games and creative expression projects. Children gain new vocabulary and learn to use new words and concepts. We work on fine and gross motor skills in various types of activities both inside and on the playground. Children will learn the basic fundamentals for future learning success.

We believe in a hands-on learning approach and learning through play.

2-3 YO Curriculum

Our teachers use Kaplan’s Learn Everyday-Nemours BrightStart! We also incorporate ELLM Plus into our day for added instruction. Student assessments are done 3x a year for all the children.  Students in the VPK program are assessed with the Voluntary Kindergarten Assessment from the Florida Department of Education, long with our own assessment tool. Together these assessments will provide feedback for us and as a team we can work to ensure your child is ready for kindergarten. We also use these results to plan our daily instruction.

Ages and Stages Questionnaires (a developmental screener for children up to 5 ½ years): This is an accurate way to screen young children and identify potential developmental delays as early as possible. This screening is done on all children until they enter Kindergarten.

You will receive results of all these assessments in a parent teacher conference scheduled a minimum of 2x a year. Together we can discuss the results of the assessments as well as our observations and ensure your child is developmentally on schedule. The goal of our assessments is to be able to track progress for your child and all children in our area. Each child’s teacher will also compile a portfolio to show work samples, goals met and areas that are currently being assessed. This portfolio will continue with the child until they leave the center.

VPK

Our preschool class is a very fun and happy place where learning goes on each day.

We offer a vast variety of developmental appropriate, theme and literacy based activities that will prepare your child for success in school and beyond.

Through our curriculum children learn phonics, reading, writing, letter and sound knowledge and the basics for kindergarten.

Children learn through games and experiences planned by the teachers. We offer Fall and Summer VPK, as well as all day care for your child.

4-5 Curriculum
